With the Presidential election wrapping up in less than a week, the focus now shifts to issues our next leader will face as soon as he takes office. Of course the economy is at the top of list. Equally deserving of immediate attention is a plan to deal with climate change.

Whichever man wins, he will need the counsel of experts to create this plan, and the Presidential Climate Action Project is already sharing their advice in The 100 Day Action Plan to Save the Planet.

William S. Becker is the executive director of the Presidential Climate Action Project, a non-partisan initiative based at the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs. The experts involved include leaders from science, business, government, environment, and major universities.

As the name suggests, The 100 Day Action Plan to Save the Planet is very action oriented, and includes steps like:

  • Launch a “clean energy surge” and create a powerful new workforce of green manufacturing, supply, technology, management, and support jobs.
  • Reward innovation and early adoption of renewable energy in the private sector.
  • Work constructively with other nations for global solutions to the climate crisis.

This group even has a green communications strategy. The plan is only being published as an ebook in order to get it out as quickly as possible, and to avoid the environmental costs of paper production, printing and shipping.

You can download the ebook from Amazon, eReader, Sony, Mobipocket and Powell’s. Perhaps our next President had a few minutes and is already getting a head start reading this plan…you never know!
